On Saturday, May 21st, the Museum of Flight hosted the Hope Gala, a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. At the gala, Dr. Mary-Claire King spoke about the proactive research done by scientists who are finding a cure for breast cancer, a disease that affects one in eight American women. During the event, a silent auction was held, with proceeds going towards the American Cancer Society. Throughout the past two years, the gala raised more than $500,000 for research.
The hosts of the evening were KIRO-TV’s morning traffic anchor, Jenni Hogan, and auctioneer, local performer and event producer, Kevin Joyce. The pair entertained the guests as they arrived in stunning ball gowns, bid on auction items and enjoyed the Museum of Flight’s special cocktail of the night.
