WHY WE HEART THEM

This passionate golfer is one proud Seattleite. He was born and raised in Seattle, however, his father was born and raised in England before coming to the Northwest. Alex attended Mercer Island High School prior to spending his senior year at the prestigious David Leadbetter Golf Academy at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Upon completion of his high school education he went on to compete at Washington State University for two years and then studied Professional Golf Management at the University of Colorado where he received his degree and PGA education.

Alex grew up playing the game of golf and since age 16 he knew it was his passion, but it wasn’t till he finished his senior year at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy that Alex knew he wanted to teach, “I was so fortunate to receive such great golf instruction growing up, I wanted to pass that knowledge on to others.”

Alex is now a successful golf coach and entrepreneur at Alex Dunlop Golf, where he helps others sharpen their skills and improve their game.  He is also currently working on a technology start-up that will change the way people purchase golf apparel and equipment. When not growing the game of golf, Alex enjoys spending time with his friends and family, skiing, working out, and traveling specifically to Scotland, Ireland, and England to play some of the best courses and visit family.  Alex is also on the committee of the Gary Adrian Memorial Golf Tournament memorializing his high school golf coach where proceeds go to the The First Tee of Greater Seattle, a foundation that provides youth of all backgrounds the opportunity to develop through golf .

Alex’s passion for golf and enjoyment of life have led to a successful career and many great opportunities. All of which have contributed to him becoming a well-rounded Seattleite who can give lessons on life as well as on your swing. “I tell people golf is like the game of life. There are ups and downs, there are moments where nothing can go wrong, there are moments where nothing can go right. The moment you think you have it figured out, everything falls apart. It’s the most humbling game of all time.”
