Sexy Swimwear: Malibu Comes to Seattle

Sugar and spice and everything nice. And just a bit naughty too. The summer 2011 Malibu Doll Swimwear collection is cotton candy sweet — with a rock star edge. And it’s yours for the taking.

The local company, founded in Medina, dove onto the Seattle fashion scene in early 2011 with the launch of its couture swimwear collection.

The line, designed to help stylish, sophisticated gals express their “inner doll,” is as imaginative as it is whimsical. Inspired by the lavish, LA party lifestyle, each swimsuit tells a different story.

“Whether she’s soft, bright, smooth or sparkling, these are just a few of the descriptions we translate into our swimwear to (help women) express her inner doll,” explains Malibu Doll founder Chanel Prineas.

“After five years of dreaming, six months of planning and a very long 12-hour prep day, I was so blessed to show my first collection,” Prineas says. The coming-out fashion show was held at Barolo in January.

The line is loud and bold. Bright pink hues and jeweled embellishments are designed to get each doll noticed.

“We want every girl to make her splash unforgettable. With Malibu Doll, her imagination has no limits,” Prineas says.
