Be Bold. Be Bald: Help Local Women Battle Cancer

Give some money — and some hair — to support breast cancer research.

Chef John Howie will shave his own head — and he invites the rest of us to do the same! Mother, friend, wife and John Howie employee, Tomoko Bryant was diagnosed with breast cancer in September. Now, John Howie Steak and The Bravern invite the community to come together and show their support for this inspirational woman in her ongoing battle.

What: A head shaving and happy hour community-wide event hosted by The Bravern and John Howie Steak in support of John Howie employee Tomoko Bryant in her battle against breast cancer. Guests are invited to enjoy a specialty Pink Ribbon Cocktail and support Tomoko’s team in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.

How: Individuals can support Tomoko by getting their heads shaved for $50, or simply by making a $50 donation. All of the proceeds from the head shaving and specialty cocktails will directly support Tomoko and her team. Furthermore, proceeds from the Pink Ribbon cocktail for the rest of the summer will continue to support local teams participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day.

Where: “Be Bold. Be Bald,” will be held at The Bravern in conjunction with their weekly outdoor happy hour Sips and Sounds.

When: The event will take place on Thursday, July 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Why: Breast cancer impacts thousands of lives every day—nearly all of us know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease in some way, shape or form. “Be Bold. Be Bald,” is a unique opportunity to come together as a community and help support breast cancer patients and contribute toward the search for a cure.
