Basin Martini Bar has been a fixture of downtown Klamath Falls since its establishment in 2008. This upscale cocktail bar and restaurant has delicious food and craft cocktails, providing both locals and travelers a fun, yet relaxing place to eat, drink, and chill. Menu highlights include the crab rangoon dip, the chimichurri tri tip, and the seared scallops with corn risotto. The food pairs well with any of the martinis on the menu, with the Light My Fire being one of our favorites.

The Klamath Grill

The Klamath Grill is a cozy local spot that serves classic diner food and is open daily for breakfast and lunch in downtown Klamath Falls. You’ll get your “greasy spoon” fix in this bright space that’s always bustling with locals and tourists alike. Come here for bottomless drip coffee in mismatch mugs, omelets that will keep you full for the rest of the day, and other classics like biscuits and gravy and eggs benedict.

Thai Orchid Cafe

Thai Orchid Cafe is a quaint, family-owned restaurant in downtown Klamath Falls that offers a delicious array of Thai delicacies in a welcoming atmosphere. An intimate venue that is open daily, Thai Orchid Cafe’s menu is large and affordable, with favorites being the phad kee mao (drunken noodles), yellow curry, cashew chicken, and pineapple fried rice. For dessert, many diners rave about the mango sticky rice.

Visiting Crater Lake

Crater Lake is located just about 60 miles north of Klamath Falls, making it an easily accessible destination for a day trip. In the fall, visitors can enjoy the vibrant foliage along the Rim Drive, which remains open as long as weather permits and offers stunning views of the deep blue waters framed by colorful forests. Hiking trails are also popular in the fall, with cooler temperatures providing a perfect environment for exploring.

As winter approaches, the area transforms into a snowy paradise, ideal for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and ranger-led snowshoe hikes. The snow-covered landscape makes Crater Lake even more serene and picturesque during the winter months, attracting outdoor enthusiasts and photographers alike. Ranger-guided snowshoe walks are a fun way to explore this winter wonderland!

Kayaking with Roe Outfitters

Located 40 minutes northwest of Klamath Falls, Malone Springs is a picturesque spot that is great for kayaking almost any time of year. Kayaking at Malone Springs with Roe Outfitters offers a peaceful and immersive experience, particularly in the fall and winter when the area is quieter and more serene.

In the fall, paddlers can glide through the calm waters of the Upper Klamath Wildlife Refuge, surrounded by the changing colors of autumn foliage, while enjoying crisp, cool air and the sight of migrating birds. The scenery is particularly beautiful with golden grasses and reflections of the sky on the water.

In the winter, although temperatures drop, the adventure takes on a magical quality as the refuge becomes a tranquil, snow-dusted landscape. Roe Outfitters provides all necessary gear, ensuring that kayakers can enjoy the solitude of this remote area while staying warm and comfortable, making it a memorable outing for nature lovers even in colder months.

Wine Tasting in the Rogue Valley

The Rogue Valley is located in southern Oregon, nestled between the Cascade and Siskiyou mountain ranges. It is centered around the cities of Medford, Ashland, and Grants Pass. Known for its mild climate and scenic beauty, the valley is a diverse region offering outdoor recreation, cultural attractions, and a thriving wine industry.

Its wine region, the Rogue Valley AVA, is gaining recognition for producing high-quality wines from a wide range of varietals. Known for producing everything from bold reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to crisp whites like Chardonnay and Viognier, the Rogue Valley benefits from a warm climate and varied elevations. Some favorite wineries in the area include Del Rio Vineyards, known for its stunning views and extensive wine list, and Kriselle Cellars, which offers exceptional reds and a charming tasting room. Troon Vineyard is also a standout for its biodynamic wines and focus on sustainability.
