Restaurant Spotlight: Rare Society Steakhouse

Rare Society is an iconic West Coast-based steakhouse that pays homage to vintage steakhouses, blending retro charm with modern dining aesthetics. Located 20 miles north of Seattle in the cozy Mill Creek, Rare Society was founded by Chef Brad Wise and brings the sophistication of Sinatra-era steakhouses to the Pacific Northwest.

Channeling the golden age of old school glamour, the restaurant features velvet booths, dim lighting, and an intoxicating aroma of oak-grilled meats. Every detail is designed to transport diners to a time when dinners were indulgent, drinks were strong, and every meal out felt like a celebration.

The menu at Rare Society is a love letter to carnivores, offering an array of premium cuts cooked over an open flame. Highlights include the Prime Bullseye Ribeye, the Snake River Farms Wagyu Tri-Tip, and the perfectly tender Filet Mignon. For those who can’t choose, the Butcher’s Feast is the ultimate experience—a shareable platter showcasing a selection of the restaurant’s finest cuts, paired with gourmet sides like the Potato au Gratin with truffle mornay and shaved black truffles, and the Roasted Mushrooms with thyme, garlic, and egg yolk.

Seafood lovers will find plenty to enjoy, too. The raw bar offers oysters on the half shell, chilled Maine lobster, snow crab claws and more, or you can opt for one of the seafood towers if you want to try a little bit of everything. Starters like the Steamed Clams with pork and beef chorizo and warm Parker House Rolls with truffle butter set the tone for an indulgent meal, and the Wood Grilled Whole Main Lobster is an absolute stunner (the garlic and parsley butter it’s slathered in is addictive). Make sure to save room for dessert, because the Butter Cake is absolutely to die for, with the Bananas Foster Cheesecake coming in a close second.

Rare Society’s progressive cocktail program offers expertly crafted libations that complement the menu’s bold flavors. Highlights include the Rare Old Fashioned made with dry-aged beef washed bourbon, rosemary oleo and bitters, as well as the Dirty Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Rare Society also offers a selection of draft beers and mocktails, and they have an impressive wine list.

Rare Society brings something truly special to Mill Creek: a place where food, atmosphere, and hospitality come together in perfect harmony. Whether you’re a steak connoisseur, you’re looking for a new date night spot, or you have a special occasion to celebrate, you will be sure to have an unforgettable experience.
