In honor of National Mental Health Month, Seattle Children’s Home (SCH) invited women to slip into their stilettos for an evening of fashion and compassion at the Wine, Women, & Shoes Event. This special fundraising event offered the perfect opportunity for these “sole sisters” to look good while doing good.

Guests dressed to impress. Celebrity fashion designer and red carpet fashion expert, Nick Verreos (formerly of Project Runway), was the official “shoe judge,” awarding a special prize to guests with the sassiest shoes. The red carpet was hosted by Joan Kelly of Fashion First Seattle and Duell Fisher of Seen by Team Photogenic, and stylist Gene Juarez was on-hand to help guests look their best for the camera.

Seattle’s most wine-savvy, shoe-loving women kicked up their heels and sipped varietals from some of the West Coast’s top winemakers. These included Chateau St. MichelleDe Lille Cellars and Basel Cellars from Washington, as well as Charles Krug Wine from Napa Valley. Fashionistas shopped the latest trends from local fashion designers, such as Luly YangDavid Lawrence and Mario’s — all while tasting treats from Kerry Sear, the acclaimed chef of ART Restaurant.

Established in 1884, SCH is the oldest children’s charity in Washington. Though it started out as a home for orphaned boys and girls, SCH’s current focus is helping children and their families by offering comprehensive mental health and development services.
