Why We Heart Them

This Seattle newbie is originally from Reno, Nevada, where he grew up on the slopes of Lake Tahoe as an avid skier. He attended University of California San Diego, and then found himself in the bright lights and big city of Los Angeles dabbling in the entertainment business. He is now settling in to the breathtaking landscape of the Pacific Northwest, where he appreciates both the laid-back outdoor and the sophisticated metropolitan lifestyles. Brian has been calling Seattle home for the past three years and has never looked back.

“Seattle is a great city for the young professional– I have a strong network of friends and enjoy dining and socializing at area restaurants, attending concerts, sporting events, and checking out the touring exhibits at the museums,” says Brian. “Plus, I’m a four seasons kind of guy, and the Pacific Northwest has a lot to offer someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as I do. I love the easy access to the water and enjoy sailing the lakes and sound.”

The change in lifestyle was one reason Brian came to Seattle, but the opportunities for new business were an even bigger draw, and his decision to move north proved to pay off, big time. He is the sales manager for NuTech Medical, one of the world’s leading stem cell developers. Working with orthopedic and neurosurgeons, Brian jetsets around the U.S. meeting with doctors to enhance their surgical techniques that improves the lives of others.

“I am fortunate to work with some of the most educated people around. Most importantly, the products and services we offer improve patient outcomes, which is a great feeling.”

A successful and rewarding career is the ultimate work-life balance for this Seattleite. Brian makes sure travel is a priority and seizes the opportunity to take advantage of his free time. Last year, he racked up over 100,000 airline miles, and found himself taking spontaneous trips to Hawaii and zipping across to exotic locations around the world. Brian has truly been able to enjoy the fruits of his labor. When he’s not traveling out of state, he can be found at his favorite, local stomping grounds, Crystal Mountain and Stevens Pass, or across the border in Whistler.

Through his work, Brian has been able to develop strong relationships with philanthropic causes in the medical field that he is passionate about. He is actively involved with, Doctors without Borders – an organization where doctors and nurses volunteer to provide urgent medical care in countries to victims of war and disaster;  Medical Teams International – a nonprofit global health organization working to create healthier communities, as well as the local Scott Oki  Cause.
