Hundreds of Seattle’s young business leaders and innovators rallied together last Thursday, April 14th at The Triple Door to “Help Japan”, a cocktail benefit party to raise funds for the Japan Red Cross. The event was sponsored by Dorsey & Whitney LLP and the Furuta Lee Foundation, with partnership from Art Xchange and Sly Monkeys Productions.
The evening was emceed by former Q13 FOX anchor Christine Chen. Also making a guest appearance was YouTube sensation Jimmy Wong, who made headlines with his video response to Alexandra Wallace’s viral anti-Asian rant. Wong gave the crowd a rendition of his best-known song and played a few solid covers as well.
A grand time was had by all who attended, but more importantly, the event managed ro raise a substantial sum to help the recent earthquake and tsunami victims. Thanks to raffle prizes and a generous percentage of food and drink sales from the hosts at The Triple Door, a total of $11,948 in proceeds was generated for Japan Red Cross.
