Adventurous bar-hoppers will find cheap drinks and tasty food at this Pike St. joint.

Thanks to downtown’s square grid of streets and alleys, Seattle is still a town of nooks and crannies. Many of the city’s darkest, most exciting secrets take place in such locales — so when one happens upon one, it’s safe to say they’ll leave the place a changed person.
On the positive end of this spectrum is Alibi Room, a Post Alley gem hidden amid a jungle of ABC gum.
Much of my love for the Alibi stems from its location — directly below the tourist madness of the market fish throwers, somehow remaining anonymous amid such hubbub.
Must-Have Grub: Alibi offers $5 eats on their HH menu. Aged dairy is prominent in a few dishes, such as the spicy macaroni and cheese, brie with apple and honey, cambazola served with roasted garlic (a breath terminator), and a mini pizza where toppings of your choice only cost 50 cents each.
Another option is the Alibi Room’s lineup of Mediterranean fare. These dishes include bruschetta, white-bean hummus, and an olive tapenade plate. The latter two also feature house-baked foccacia.
Must-Have Libations: $3 pints of draft beer and $4 mixed drinks, available every day. ‘Nuff said.
Happy Times: Monday — Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.; Friday — Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m.
