For those living atop Queen Anne, it’s time to flow south by south east.
For the rest of us, it’s time to make Citizen, the quaint eatery on lower Queen Anne, a priority when it comes to happy hour interests. Simplicity can never be underrated (thinking…yes, even with significant others).
Citizen, a heavily wooded, hip restaurant on the southeast hill of Queen Anne, has it in spades, whether it be its logo (the geometrically pleasing star) or happy hour menu (the stomach pleasing offerings keen to each Seattleite, especially when PBR is involved). With open windows and ample space to converse, it’s the perfect spot to start a night when looking to hit a scene around Lake Union.
Must-Have Grub: Moist pulled pork is coming two different ways (slider or taco) but the price is the same at $2. Less seen items on a Seattle happy hour menu include an antipasto plate (Thyme spiced white bean spread, roasted red peppers, mixed olives, chevre and baguette slices) for $5 and half an avocado with pico de gallo for $2.
Must-Have Libations: This is where Citizen makes it mark with me. Everything is under $5 with the house red / white being poured for $3.50, draught beer and mimosa’s for the same, and PBR tall boys available at near market price for $1. $1. $1. Sure, Citizen isn’t mixing the hard liquors in a fancy fashion for a fancy price, but then again, that would be simple, now would it?
Happy Times: Monday through Friday 4 PM – 6 PM
