Entertaining the Masses: Arch Enemy Invades Seattle

Attention Seattleites, prepare to get a little heavy.

This Friday, September 23, legendary Swedish death metal band Arch Enemy, will invade Seattle for a night of pure Khaos.

Guitarists (and brothers) Christopher and Micheal Amott, bassist Sharlee D’Angelo, drummer Daniel Erlandsson, and vocalist Angela Gossow will systematically dismantle the Showbox SoDo when their “North American Khaos 2011” tour rolls through Seattle in support of their latest album, Khaos Legions (2011, Century Media).

“I think we took a ‘more is more’ approach to this record,” says guitarist and brainchild of the band Michael Amott. Khaos Legion is their first release of all new and original material since 2005’s Doomsday Machine. “It’s a very exciting record for me because it encapsulates everything that Arch Enemy is about. It was written over a four year period, so I think that’s why it’s got a lot of depth and girth to it.”

Khaos was released on May 30, 2011, and reached number 78 on the Billboard 200, making this album the band’s highest charting album thus far.

“We went all over the place with this album,” says Gossow. “Take it or leave it.”

Arch Enemy will perform at the Showbox SoDo on Friday, September 23, along with DevilDriver, Skeletonwitch, and Chthonic. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $22 and are available here.
