Dine On A Dime: Lil’ Woody’s

Juicy burgers and creamy milkshakes are staples at this Capitol Hill hotspot.

Simply put, Li’l Woody’s serves burgers — both signature creations and “normal” favorites, as well as the option to build your own. If the punny menu at this Pine Street joint doesn’t win you over (they have a breakfast sandwich called the Good Mornin’ Woody), the insanely delicious beef will. If you’re the experimental type when it comes to food, Li’l Woody’s offers non-traditional burger toppings like peanut butter and pineapple slices.

Meal Steals: Li’l Woody’s three best burgers under $10

Li’l Woody’s is known for their Fig and the Pig burger for $8.50, which is topped with pickled figs, bacon, mayo and crumbled gorgonzola cheese. I don’t know about you, but I think bacon makes just about everything better…

…Which is why I also recommend The Trotter ($8). Sandwiched between the beef and the bun are caramelized onions, apples, mayo and chopped bacon. Lil Woody’s own horseradish sauce gives it a little zing.

You can never go wrong with a classic. The Li’l Woody ($4.50) is a quarter pound of meat with a slice of Tillamook Cheddar, chopped onions (much less awkward to eat than onion rings), pickles, ketchup and mayo. For $5, you can get a side of hand-cut fries with an oh-so-delicious Molly Moon milkshake in which to dip them.

And if you’re making a late-night stumble home from your favorite pub, Li’l Woody’s stays open until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights to satisfy your hunger.
