Foodie travelers, pack your bags for an indulgent experience in Friday Harbor.
This winter, the Island Inn at 123 West and Duck Soup Inn have joined forces offer guests a series of exclusive cooking classes, hosted by Chef Gretchen Allison. The Epicurean Escape package is a weekend-long getaway focused on food and fun.
Celebrate the New Year by preparing a memorable feast on Friday, Dec. 30. The menu includes duck breast, wild mushroom bread pudding and cardamon crepes. If you can’t make it for New Year’s, a traditional East Indian cooking class will be taught on Saturday, Jan. 21. On the menu: lamb curry, fresh chutney and saffron rice.
Epicurean Escapees prepare a full feast under the direction of a renowned local chef. Each package also includes penthouse accommodations for two, a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival and all the required gear and ingredients for the class, as well as a takeaway recipe for each dish prepared.
Ranging from comfortable penthouses and sleek, Euro-style guestrooms, each room at the inn includes such amenities as luxury linens, a steam shower, fireplace and fully-equipped kitchen — not to mention a stunning view of the harbor.
Rates for the Epicurean Escape start at $249 per night, and the promotion requires a minimum two-night stay. Reservations can be made online.
