Cozy Northwest Lodges

No need to travel far — a weekend getaway is just what the doctor ordered.

Take a break from the holiday madness to appreciate the little things: a roaring fire, good company, and the natural beauty of the Northwest. Here’s a collection of local winter lodges for the perfect weekend getaway.

Lake Quinault Lodge

Located inside Olympic National Park, this rustic destination has offered home-away-from-home comfort and hospitality since its doors opened in 1926. The main lodge offers cozy guest rooms with old-fashioned ambiance. Contemporary and family-friendly rooms are available in the Lakeside and Boathouse rooms, which feature private balconies or patios with views of the lake or the surrounding lush rain forests.

During their stay, guests are invited to enjoy a picturesque view of the lake from a private balcony in one of the lodge’s charming Fireplace Rooms, sip a warm drink by the majestic fireplace in the Grand Old Lobby, eat a warm meal in the historic Roosevelt Dining Room (featuring the largest regional wine list on the Olympic Peninsula) and take a dip in the indoor pool.

Salish Lodge & Spa

Nestled in the foothills of the Cascade, this fabulous mountain retreat offers a breath-taking view of Snoqualmie Falls. Each newly remolded room features custom furniture and deluxe amenities, including over-sized jetted tubs, wood-burning fireplaces and goose-down comforters. The resort’s two restaurants, The Dining Room and The Attic, combine seasonal ingredients and indigenous cooking techniques for a sublime dining experience. There is also the famously over-the-top, four-course breakfast, available to guests every day.

Salish also offers an award-winning, full-service spa to help guests unwind after a day on the slopes. Spa-goers may soak in the therapeutic pools and receive a customized massage from skilled practitioners who only use local ingredients. Guests can bring the spa to their guest room when they choose a service from the Salish Bath Butler Menu, which offers a rosemary and mint bath and a signature milk and honey country pampering bath.
