An annual extravaganza to help couples plan for their “big day.”
What: Nailing down that special date is the first step toward matrimonial bliss. Then, the couple must edit the guest list, select the perfect venue, hire a capable caterer, mail invitations and so on. The process quickly becomes overwhelming — which is why Barbara and Don Berger started the annual Seattle Wedding Show.
Who: Over 400 local, regional and national vendors will be present at the show, including florists, bakeries, hotels, disc jockeys, jewelers, bridal boutiques, photographers and tux shops. A full list of all vendors that will be in attendance can be found online. Runway fashion shows are scheduled for 11:30 a.m., 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. These shows will feature the season’s most stylish gowns, tuxedos and floral arrangements from more than 30 different retailers.
Where: Washington State Convention Center.
When: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday Jan. 7, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday Jan. 8.
How Much: Tickets ($17) can be purchased online.
Why: The show provides newly engaged couples the opportunity to explore a variety of options for their upcoming nuptials under one roof. By purchasing tickets, showgoers will also support Gilda’s Club Seattle — a community-based organization that provides social, emotional, and educational support for cancer survivors and their families.
