Kirkland’s GEM Salon invites you to switch up your look in 2012.
“Hair style is the final tip-off whether or not a woman really knows herself,” Parisian designer Hubert de Givenchy told “Vogue” in 1985. With this in mind, Kirkland’s GEM Salon invites men, women and children of the Eastside to stop in for a visit — and possibly leave with a completely different look.
GEM Salon’s heart and soul is its premier team of stylists and aestheticians. This crew is led by Eric Berger, who co-founded the salon with his wife, Meg Van Deusen, in 2006. GEM stylists offer exclusive techniques, and have participated in numerous fashion shows and photo shoots to showcase their personal flair and experience.
Eric and Meg hand-pick the hair and make-up products sold in the store, including items by Oribe, Kevin Murphy and Loreal. Though GEM offers hair treatments such as bayalage ($125-165), up-do ($85-250) and airwave ($35-70), the salon’s services also cover lip and chin waxing ($16-18), brow and lash tinting ($18-25), lash extensions (starting at $250) and even makeup lessons (starting at $100).
In addition to hair expertise, GEM is known for its prime location. Situated next to the chic Woodmark Hotel on the stunning Carillon Point waterfront, the salon provides easy access to both downtown Kirkland and SR 520.
GEM is taking its talents into 2012 by way of a beauty bash. “A New Year, A New You” kicks off at at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26. The soiree includes special services, a swag bag, appetizers, refreshments and a live DJ. Tickets ($30) are available online and at the salon.
