Seattleite and Google Places hosted a spectacular evening of good libations as Seattleites mixed, mingled and toasted to the year ahead with the city’s top mixologists. Partygoers didn’t let Snowmageddon put a damper on their fun as they braved the roads to sample some seriously luscious cocktails.
Attendees enjoyed the best libations in Seattle, including: Bastille’s Pastry War with Milagro; Bathtub Gin‘s Black Douglas with The Balvenie; Boka’s Golden Dragon with Hendrick’s Gin; Little Water Cantina’s Dog Fighter #2 with Milagro; Golden Beetle’s Dandy Derringer with The Balvenie; Poquitos’ La Fiona with Milagro; Tavern Law’s Sixpence Gin and Jam with Hendrick’s Gin; The Pink Door’s Luciano’s Revenge with Tullamore Dew; and Tini Bigs’ Scottish Thistle with Hendrick’s Gin.
The crowds were impressed with the all-star line-up of mixologists, as well as the savory bites from Wild Ginger. The BBQ Pork Bao — covered in a slightly sweet sauce and baked to a golden brown — was a huge hit, as well as the pan-fried beef dumplings.
Guests munched on PopChips as they uploaded their cocktail reviews on Google Places, plotted their cocktail and grub cravings on Google Schemer and voted for their top three libations of the night with a live voting poll. Cool swag for partygoers included HTC Vivid phones, and the event raised awareness for One Day’s Wages, a Seattle-based non-profit organization that works to alleviate global poverty.
The New Year Libations celebration was a crowd-pleasing evening of good libations, great food, and amazing company. The evening brought out some of the most amazing cocktails in the city, but only one could take home the crown of “best libation.” It was a very close competition, with Bathtub Gin and Tini Bigs tied for second place, but the winning title went to the habanero-infused concoction from Poquito’s.
