Style File: Seattle Fashion First 2012

On Sept. 13, shop for a cause at Joan and Jared Event’s ninth annual Fashion First fashion show, Seattle’s longest running independent fashion show, which not only features work from hip designers and trendy retailers, but also works to raise money for Rise n’ Shine, a local nonprofit that provides support and education for children and teens with HIV/AIDS.

The show will feature members of Seattle’s fabulous independent fashion community such as Sway and Cake, Malibu Doll Swimwear, The Finerie, Mercer and La Ree Boutique, to name a few. Designers and retailers alike are thrilled to be taking part in this fashionable way to give back.

“One of the main reasons I choose to participate in Fashion First every year is because of the importance of the Rise n’ Shine foundation. This is where I choose to spend the majority of our advertising budget because I believe in these kids and the education on HIV/AIDS,” runway sponsor and Fashion First participant Rachel Nov said.

Joan and Jared Events first founded Fashion First in 2004 with the mission of supporting small, independent fashion designers and retailers. The event offers a rare opportunity for fashion enthusiasts to give back to their community through a night of trendy fashion festivities!
