Seattle Sounders will face Vancouver Whitecaps in Western Conference Semifinals

MLS Playoffs: #DefendOurCup

The hashtag used by the Seattle Sounders FC as the Sounders clinch their 9th consecutive playoff berth and attempt to repeat as MLS champions. After a definitive 3-0 win against the Colorado Rapids on Sunday, the Sounders enter MLS Playoffs in second place in the Western Conference.

Going into the playoffs, the biggest concern for the team is the amount of injuries that are plaguing key contributors. These include major ailments to Brad Evans, Jordan Morris, and team captain Osvaldo Alonso. It is uncertain whether these players will be healthy enough to play during the Sounders playoff push. The crucial first round bye gives us an extra week to get the squad to full strength.

We are also short Clint Dempsey after he received a red card early in Sunday’s game after a video review and will sit out the first leg.

With their eye on the prize and a taste of being the reigning MLS champions, the Sounders will look to find a way back to another MLS Cup final and bring home another trophy to the Emerald City.
