The Mad Hatter & crew come together for a naughty rendition of Alice in Wonderland

Seattle’s favorite burlesque masterminds Lily Verlaine and Jasper McCann have joined forces once again for their 10th annual production of Through the Looking Glass, a re-imagination of the classic Alice in Wonderland tale, where all your favorite characters from Alice and the Mad Hatter to Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb come together to deliver a performance you won’t want to miss.
Instead of falling down the rabbit hole, patrons get to follow Alice on an obscure adventure and discover what sultry secrets lie past the velvet ropes of Wonderland’s most exclusive nightclub, the Looking Glass, and cheer her on as she tries to best the Queen of Hearts for a seat on the plush throne as the next true ruler of Wonderland.
After 10 years, it’s no surprise this production dazzles and excites, but this year’s production is especially fun with some new additions that really dial up the heat. Tory Peil’s Cheshire cat performance was the most memorable of the evening for me – slinking on stage in a flesh-toned, bedazzled thong bodysuit, she pranced around channeling her inner kitty in an utterly believable, and mostly gut-busting hilarious set.
Everything from the elaborate costumes like Verlaine’s sultry caterpillar and the intricately feathery flamingo, to the original musical score performance from a live 5-piece jazz ensemble, is entertainment at it’s finest. Don’t miss this fun burlesque experience happening now through May 6th at the Triple Door.
