As you may have noticed by now (if you’re at all observant), it’s March Foodie Madness. In our excited efforts to focus on all things eat + drink, we also thought it’d be crucial to enlighten you to our personal favorites around town. This week — our favorite watering holes. Because boozin’ it up, after all, falls high on our priority list.
Allison Lind | Editor |Tavern Law: Because if you ask the bartenders to make you a drink that tastes “like pineapple and despair” they’ll figure out how to do it — and it will be delicious.
David Metrick | Contributor | Owl n’ Thistle Irish Pub: Located beneath the ferry pedestrian bridge, it’s a great hole in the wall with a daily four-hour happy hour and great fish and chips.
Jon Meyer | Contributor | Lava Lounge: Well-priced drinks, no non-sense bartenders that don’t play favorites, and my favorite shuffleboard table in all of Seattle.
Brad Nehring | Contributor |Buckley’s in Belltown: My favorite go-to sports bar. Or Linda’s Tavern for a friendly Capitol Hill joint.
Jeff Reynolds | Contributor | Boka: At the base of Hotel 1000 and Madison Towers, the space can feel a bit swanky, but killer martinis or a order of truffle fries with a cold beer will not disappoint. Cheers!
Kiera Scholten | Contributor | Zig Zag Cafe: Great for post-dinner drinks with its red-lit relaxing atmosphere. Its drink menu is practically a book there are so many cocktail options — all of them inventive and unique. It’s recently been recognized nationally too; GQ named it best cocktail bar in the country.
Kelly Skahan | Contributor | Pyramid Alehouse: Brewery and Restaurant: In my mind, there’s nothing better than meeting up at Pyramid for a drink on a July afternoon before wandering across First Avenue to catch batting practice at Safeco Field.
Kara Tiernan | Contributor | Big Al’s brewery in White Center: Quite a gem, fabulous brews in a hidden spot.
Christie Vandyke | Contributor | Hudson Public House: A comfy neighborhood bar and restaurant? What’s not to love?
Jane Yuan | Publisher | Bathtub Gin: A hidden speakeasy gem. There’s no flashy signage, only a desecrate door with a small plaque. The moment you walk into this intimate and cozy space, you’ll feel at home and never want to leave, plus, their craft cocktails are scrumptiously delicious!
