What We Love: Bellevue’s Top-Notch Cocktails

You’ve made the drive across the treacherous 520 (whether going to or from), so you deserve a reward. To help you do so, we’ve found the most tempting cocktails the East side has to offer — from tried and true to newly conconcted delights, these guys certainly give their West side counterparts a run for their money.

Pearl Bar and Dining located in Lincoln Square offers a line of specialty cocktails designed for the closet bad girl (or boy) — such as their Shiso Wild Drop or Dragon fruit mojito, with enough rum to knock your socks off (without the stifling rum bite). The light and refreshing Shiso Wild Drop dazzles your taste buds with Finlandia’s Wildberry vodka, triple sec and a house-made lemon sour, paired with muddled shiso leaf and topped with a huckleberry tea sugar rim for the perfect sweet and sour mixture. The drop even has won several awards along the way to back up our hype. These two drinks alone are reason enough to stop by, and a “half-off drinks” special during happy hour is the deal sealer.

In the mood for some heat? Try the new Spicy Pear Kamikaze from John Howie Steak, an intriguing take on the traditional cocktail. The bartender stirs up Absolut Pear, Looza pear nectar, jalapeno syrup, lemon juice and a cinnamon sugar rim that cuts the kick with a little sweetness. This cocktail is $6.50 during happy hour, and could be easily paired with any juicy aged USDA prime Rib or other famously fabulous cuts from the NW steakhouse.

Tried and true across the bar, The Parlor’s Appletini is simply the best hands down, with that little carving of a Granny Smith to snack on after you’ve sipped the last drop. The combination of Pendleton, apple liquor, pink cranberry juice with cinnamon is mouth watering.
