The seasonal offerings at eco-friendly Elaia spa have us craving more.
Forget a quiet evening at home. We lead hectic lives. The standard R&R won’t cut it — our bodies demand the best. So how about a Warm Lavender Herbal Wrap? Or a Sugar Plum and Spice Facial? Yeah, we thought so.
Like many of the area’s best restaurants, Elaia‘s treatment menu changes seasonally — a consistent feature since this downtown spa opened their doors almost two years ago. And this season’s offerings are no exception. Take a gander:
Warm Lavender Herbal Wrap (90 minutes, $140)
Sugar Plum and Spice Facial (60 minutes, $95)
Cinnamon Cardamom Coffee Sugar Scrub (60 minutes, $95)
Cranberry Geranium Vanilla Wrap (60 minutes, $95)
But we’re not just loving Elaia for their delectable offerings. If you haven’t heard yet, this top-notch spa marches strictly to the green movement drum.
Appropriately located in the city’s first LEED certified hotel, the Hyatt at Olive 8 in downtown, Elaia has a treatment menu replete with “market fresh” ingredients sourced locally, and technicians follow strict eco-friendly practices — meaning you can rest easy while receiving a unique-as-you pampering session.
These days it seems every company is opting to fly the “eco-friendly” flag — but not all of them go so far as Elaia.
“Most people are surprised that a corporate brand like the Hyatt has gone green — Corporate-Organic, isn’t that an oxymoron?” says Leah Krieger, assistant spa director of Elaia.
Yet they’ve done it — and kept it up consistently since their debut. All the spa’s linens and products are organic, featuring local company Simply Botanicals and the Swedish vegan product line Luzern. The state-of-the-art soaking pool is LEED certified, with a synchronized water system, heated open-air deck and lighting that adjusts as necessary according to Mother Nature.
Elaia also supports area growers, using Market Fresh concepts with locally grown and produced products directly from Pike Place, which of course change with the season.
Looking for a special treat for Valentine’s Day? Running Feb. 11 – 14, Elaia is offering two promotions:
• “Be Your Own Valentine” includes a Market Fresh Manicure, 30-minute herbal wrap and a full size Spa Ritual product, $80
• “Love is All You Need” adds a rose, two glasses of champagne and a take-home Simply Botanicals bath salt to any couples massage or package.
Elaia also runs a happy hour menu (further reason we love them so) two days a week from 5 – 8 p.m., $25 each:
• On Tuesdays, give tired skin a refreshing boost with a 20-minute Oxygen Facial accompanied by a sparkling glass of Rose Champagne.
• On Thursdays, pamper winter-worn nails with your choice of a 20-minute manicure or pedicure and a decadent Bailey’s Mint Martini.
