Enjoy the sunshine and art this weekend at 46 feet above sea level.
We in Seattle are fortunate to have so many venues from which to view fine, local artistry, but when the weather is this fair, outdoor locations are your best bet for enjoying your neighbors’ creativity. This year, the second annual Madison Park Art Walk will showcase the work of more than two dozen artists as viewers stroll through Madison Park, taking in all the local talent.
The art walk’s theme is “Life@Elevation46,” referring to Madison Park’s elevation of 46 feet above sea level. This free event attracted hundreds of art lovers last year, and is sure to be a hit again this month.
All the artists are residents of Madison Park, according to Terry Short, the president of the Madison Park Business Association, which is sponsoring the event. This year, 28 businesses will be participating in the art walk.
The Madison Park Art Show will begin with an Opening Night Reception and Art Walk from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9 at the Madison Park Starbucks. Free music and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. The art show will run from Sept. 9 – 30.
Use the end of your summer to explore Madison Park, or just get to know it better. Either way, you’ll be greeted by amazing local artwork.
