Mestizo is a term that is traditionally used to refer to people of mixed European and native heritage or descent. This unique eatery stays true to its name by serving a variety of fresh authentic dishes originating from all over South America including Peru, Chili, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, and Honduras.   Start your Latin adventures with the Cazuelita ($27), a sampler plate which offers a tasting from each region. Or settle on handcrafted corn tortilla chips and the freshest hand made guacamole in town.

To keep things new and exciting, Mestizo’s Executive Chef Carlos Castilla adds a new classic favorite on a monthly basis. Many of the staple entrees are family recipes that had been taught to the chef by his grandmother, including the Mole Poblano ($19) — a breast of chicken covered in a rich chocolate and chili sauce, served with ajonjoli, onions and homemade tortillas.  The restaurant’s open kitchen design allows patrons to watch artisans craft fresh tortillas and decadent desserts.  Adding even more authenticity to the diner’s experience is the one-of-a kind artwork imported from Puebla and Queretaro and the distinctive hand-crafted table tops.

What’s a Latin adventures without a little Tequila? Mestizo’s ultra-lounge features an extensive selection of tequilas with more than 200 different types of tequila on hand.  Savor the taste of authentic tequila by ordering a flight of hand selected tasters. Each month, the restaurant will feature a rotating set of tantalizing flights. The Mestizo’s signature margarita infused with raspberry puree is the perfect paring for any entrée.
