1. 50TH ANNUAL VETERANS DAY PARADE

50th Anniversary Vets Day LogoThe purpose of Auburn’s Veterans Day Parade is to positively focus on honoring our country’s veterans and active military personnel for defending our freedom around the world. Through our parade, we focus recognition on congressionally-recognized Veteran Service Organizations and their auxiliaries, the military and reserve military, National Guard and ROTC.

  • What: The parade boasts over 200 units and over 5,500 parade participants, including over 25+ high school marching bands, military vehicles, veterans’ units, honor guards and more.

2. FREE LUNCH OR DINNER AT IVAR’S AND KIDD VALLEY

Veterans Day Promo ImageTo honor those that have served our country, Ivar’s and Kidd Valley are offering veterans a complimentary meal of its legendary seafood and hamburger fare during both lunch and dinner this Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11). Veterans must show proof of military service such as VA Universal Access Card, Military ID, DD-214 (discharge papers) or Veterans Service Organization Card. One per person, only. No purchase required.

Ivar’s Acres of Clams, Salmon House and Mukilteo Landing will be serving select items like its world-famous Fish ‘n Chips with coleslaw, Cedar Plank Sockeye Salmon with Washington apple and sweet onion marmalade, crisp pancetta, house special wild rice and seasonal vegetables, and a cashew crusted Alaska Lingcod with mandarin cream sauce, roasted fingerling potatoes and sautéed spinach.

Ivar’s Seafood Bars will offer up Clams ‘n Chips, Baby Prawns and Chips, three-piece Fish ‘n Chips, Shrimp Caesar Salad, and a Clam Chowder Bread Bowl. Kidd Valley will satiate the carnivores of the bunch with a free meal that includes a cheeseburger, fries and regular soft drink.

MUSEUM OF FLIGHT: On Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, all U.S. veterans and current U.S. military personnel will be admitted to the Museum free of charge. The day will be celebrated with patriotic music from the Boeing Employee’s Stage Band, and a dramatic showing of military uniforms.

POINT DEFIANCE ZOO: Free admission to all individuals who are currently serving or have honorably served in the U.S. military on Nov. 11 and 12. Immediate family members will receive half-off general admission.

To receive your discount, bring your active military/veteran identification card, discharge papers, DD214s, or any other proof of honorable US military service with you to the Zoo.
