Reuben’s Brews to Create Limited-Edition Seattle Milk Stout to benefit Seattle Milk Fund

Raise a pint and support Seattle Milk Fund families! $1 from every pint of beer sold during Reuben’s Brews’ Thank You Thursdays event on April 7th will benefit Seattle Milk Fund’s Child Care and Family Support Program. In addition, Reuben’s Brews will release a limited-edition beer, Seattle Milk Stout, in honor of Seattle Milk Fund. Additionally, $5 from each keg sold to local bars will also be donated to Seattle Milk Fund.

Seattle Milk Fund is one of Washington’s longest-running charitable organizations and has been fueling families’ futures since 1907. Students are provided a quarterly child care grant of up to $1,300 per child, and a quarterly family support grant of $450 per family. In 2014-2015, Seattle Milk Fund presented a total of $324,398 in grants to local families.

  • WHAT: Thank You Thursdays Benefiting Seattle Milk Fund and Launch of Seattle Milk Stout
  • WHEN: Thursday, April 7th / 3:00 – 9:00 pm
  • WHERE: Reuben’s Brews / Ballard

With 25 beers available in their taproom at any time, Reuben’s Brews is known for brewing bloody good beer in a wide variety of styles. Reuben’s head brewer and co-founder Adam Robbings saw the partnership with Seattle Milk Fund as an opportunity to experiment with a new-to-him style, the Seattle Milk Stout. Milk stouts are well-rounded stouts made by adding sugars derived from milk—the extra sweetness and body helping to balance out the characteristic roast flavor.

Seattle Milk Fund provides child care grants and family support to low-income, full-time students at King County colleges and universities. While parents are in school, their children receive a valuable learning opportunity in a licensed, quality child care facility or preschool. Seattle Milk Fund helps parents realize their higher education potential, which can create a brighter and more stable financial future for their families.
