Mud Bay Talent Contest:

Does your pet have an amazing talent? Then it’s a good thing that bragging rights are up for grabs because this is your pet’s chance to strut their stuff and show all the other divas how it’s done! Contest winners will be determined by audience applause. To enter (all pets are welcome), bring your terrifically talented pet to the Pet Connection Magazine Contest Stage at 1:30 pm on Saturday and 1:50 pm on Sunday, and make sure they’re ready to awe and inspire us all with their mad skills!

Mega-Adoption Event:

While a number of rescue groups will be participating in the  Mud Bay Mega-Adoption Event, they are only able to show you a small percentage of the animals that they have available for adoption. Sadly, there are many more animals in most rescue groups’ care than could be brought to one place on one day. You can follow up with these groups after the expo to meet more animals who need good homes.

Each one of our groups have their own adoption guidelines: some may allow you to adopt a pet at the expo and take it home that day; others may require a home visit and an application. Like you, these rescue groups want the best home possible for the pets in their care. If they ask you questions, like whether or not you own your home or if you’re employed, it’s not because they want to ask you personal questions or embarrass you. They love the animals that are in their care and they want to avoid future heartbreak for everyone involved by making sure that that you’re a perfect fit as a forever home right from the start.

If you’re looking for a purebred, keep in mind that 40%+ of abandoned pets are purebreds. Rescue group personnel are experts at determining if a specific breed or breed mix would be a good fit for you and your family.
