A contest to celebrate local makers and craftsmen.
The last time we featured RAD AND HUNGRY (RAH), an online shop selling lo-fi office supplies locally sourced from around the world, was in its early days in 2011. Since then, this local company has expanded and flourished. Dedicated to connecting people and cultures though common office supplies and uncommon design, the RAH team travels the globe and hand-picks supplies that provide a first-hand glimpse into that country’s culture and design aesthetic. Whenever possible, RAH collaborates with local makers—craftsmen, screenprinters, designers and more—to create custom products.

Connecting with makers has become a large part of the RAH culture. To celebrate this and the spirit of holiday giving, RAD AND HUNGRY is holding a contest to promote art and products created at the small, local level. One winner will receive $500 and a Yearly Subscription to The Something Mighty Collection, RAH’s signature office-supply subscription box.
“After 6 years and 43 countries, we’ve connected with makers all over the world,” says RAD AND HUNGRY founder Hen Chung. “It’s become a major part of sourcing trips for us – and we wouldn’t be where we are today without the rad people we’ve met. Something they all have in common? They work incredibly hard. We want to celebrate that—the people who create on their own terms, the small, local businesses that make the world a more magical place.”
The 12 Days of Makers Contest begins on December 1 and ends December 12. Nominations come directly from the community—a way for people to support craftsmen they love.
Nominations must be posted to Facebook or Instagram using @radandhungry and #12DaysofMakers. On December 16, the RAH team will announce one winner. More information can be found at http://bit.ly/rah12mp.
