Kennedy Skincare: An Urban Spa Studio

Owner and Esthetician Erika Kennedy provides an array of services including waxing, tinting for brows and lashes, custom facials, lash extensions, and microblading. Erika recently welcomed Rebecca Reali who is a massage therapist trained in Swedish, Ayurvedic, deep tissue, aromatherapy and bamboo massage. Located in downtown on 5th Avenue, street parking is hard to find and nearby parking garages are pricey—walking, busing, or taking a Lyft might be the easiest options.

I visited Kennedy Skincare last week for a dermaplaning service. Dermaplaning is an exfoliation process using a specialized blade to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (the peach fuzz on our faces).

Erika chatted with me to understand more about my skin and after cleansing it, confirmed that dermaplaning was suitable for my skin. I love that if she feels the service you booked isn’t a good fit, she’ll recommend something that does work. She is passionate and knowledgable about skincare and provides a soothing atmosphere to relax and unwind. After the service, she showed me the dead skin cells and vellus hair she removed (it was gross and awesome at the same time). Days later, my skin feels baby soft and I’ve received compliments that it has a healthy glow.

Erika’s philosophy is that great skin and a fabulous set of lashes make it easy to get ready and look great with minimal effort in the morning. In June, she launched First Glance lashes to offer a high-end look starting at $20/pair for on-the-go women. Each pair can get up to 30+ wears which is perfect for wedding season and summer parties.

If you’re not sure which service to book, you can call or text Erika at (206) 963-2569.
