The first health and wellness kitchen JustFoodForDogs, dedicated to making fresh human-grade pet food, will open its doors in Seattle this month. Located near Amazon’s pet-friendly headquarters in SLU, where nearly 6,000 dogs “work,” this kitchen will be JustFoodForDogs’ first West Coast stand-alone kitchen outside of California. The kitchen will feature trained chefs hand preparing freshly made pet food daily, custom diet plans, health supplements and more.
The 3,067-square-foot health and wellness kitchen will feature state-of-the-art stainless-steel appliances with JustFoodForDogs trained chefs hand preparing the signature recipes. It will produce up to 2,000 pounds of food daily, seven days a week.
“According to the U.S. Census and the Seattle Animal Shelter, there are now more dogs in Seattle than children, underscoring how important these animals are as members of our family,” said Shawn Buckley, founder of JustFoodForDogs. “Our freshly prepared meals, custom diet plans, health supplements and more enable pet parents to help their furry loved ones live their best lives.”
In 2010, JustFoodForDogs launched the fresh food movement for pets with the opening of its first public kitchen, where trained chefs cook fresh food exclusively for pets from ingredients USDA-certified for human consumption. Dedicated to increasing the quality and length of life for as many dogs as possible through a balanced whole food diet, JustFoodForDogs offers the only food on the market proven healthy by two independent universities, who conducted year-long feeding trials proving their recipes boost the immune system of dogs in a healthy way.
JustFoodForDogs is already available at 45 Petco stores within Washington including the ones in Interbay, Ballard and University District.
