Sweet Valentine’s Day Offerings by Cafe Nordo

Infinity Garden - a Cafe Nordo experience (Photo credit: Cafe Nordo)

We’ve been missing dinners in cozy restaurants, and going out to the theater with friends. But more than anything, we’ve missed interactive theater-dining experiences like Cafe Nordo. Since the beginning of quarantine—we’ve been having Netflix marathons and ordering more takeout than ever before. Yay for supporting local restaurants, but we miss the human connection and having a dining experience sorely.

Cafe Nordo has taken the virtual “boxed” concept and made it into an out-of-the-box experience. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, you can take date night to the next level. We tried their Do Not Disturb Story Box, and are pleased to report that it comes wonderfully close (as can be, given the times we’re living in) to their in-person experiences. The box itself comes beautifully wrapped and hand-delivered. The first thing you’d notice is the attention to detail, a Cafe Nordo trademark that reflects in their virtual experiences as well.

This ain’t an ordinary play—it’s one you’ll play an active part in. We’d recommend opening the box at leisure—as there’s plenty for you to do, and there are smashing cocktails and delicious to elevate the experience. Never mixed a cocktail before? Well, the Classic Aviation comes with a simple but effective cocktail kit, that’ll really bring out your inner mixologist. The box includes two luscious desserts (a smooth chocolate paté and a divine amaretto cheesecake) and you can add in dinner if you’d like.

This at-home experience integrates what Nordo does best: wildly creative cuisine, storytelling, original music, and performance. Nordo’s Room Service: Do Not Disturb is an all-in-one experience much like a traditional Nordo show. At the time of purchase, there are optional add-ons of an artfully thematic dinner and wine to make this evening a truly memorable date night, all from the safety of your own home.

What we personally loved is that the experience starts with a key—but to get to the key, you need to crack a code first. This was just the beginning of a self-paced series of brain teasers, riddles, puzzles and virtual scavenger hunts that will leave you completely hooked. Yes, there are performances too—featuring Richard Nguyen Sloniker, Ronnie Hill, Opal Peachey, Alyssa Keene, and Evan Mosher. There will also be original music from Annastasia Workman and the Nordo Band as well.

They have another fun experience for Valentine’s Day as well:
