Two upcoming events at Taku Seattle on April 23rd and 24th—

As Taku gears up to reopen, Chef Shota is planning a special pre-opening pop-up on Friday, April 23 at 4:00 pm with Chef Byron Gomez of Top Chef Portland. Have you been watching the new season of Top Chef on Bravo? One of my favourite shows and Chef Shota is *SPOILER ALERT* killin’ it so far!

The second is a 6-seat private dinner with Chef Shota, @chefsara_h, and @chefbyrongomez from Top Chef Season 18 on April 24th. You can bid on one or all of the seats available (auction opened today Friday, April 9th)!

100% of the proceeds from this auction will fund the @scidpda which distributes of meals to low-income residents in the Chinatown International District (CID) prepared from restaurants in the neighborhood. Proper COVID-19 procedures and social distancing will be implemented!

Friday, April 23: Chef Shota + Chef Byron Gomez Pop-up

This is a one night only event at Taku’s takeout window. No preorders are available, guests must order and pick up food at Taku’s takeout window on a first-come basis. Limited quantities are available and arriving early is recommended.

Pop-up Menu

Fried Chicken Curry Sandwich $12

Furikake Fries $3

Fountain Drink Medium $1

Set Menu $16

Saturday, April 24: Dinner w/ Chef Shota Nakajima, Chef Sara Hauman + Chef Byron Gomez

Locals can bid on one seat (or up to six seats) of only six available tickets for a private culinary experience with Chef Shota Nakajima (Taku and formerly Adana) Chef Sara Hauman of Soter Vineyards in Portland and Chef Byron Gomez of 7908 in Aspen, Colorado, who met while filming season 18 of Top Chef in Portland.

The dinner party features a multi-course menu, beverage pairings, special swag and lots of fun chefy banter.

100 percent of proceeds from this auction will fund the distribution of meals to low-income residents in the Chinatown International District (CID) prepared from restaurants in the neighborhood. Many residents in the CID struggle with food insecurity, an issue further complicated by the impacts of COVID-19. This auction and meal program is managed by the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda).

Auction bidding opened today and closes on Friday, April 16 at 5:00 pm PDT. Registration is required for bidding. Auction link: http://bit.ly/CookingwithFriends

All CDC safety protocols will be adhered to during the private dinner.
