Non-Alcoholic Drink Recommendations for the Summer

Summer has started off with quite the bang this year, hasn’t it? Hope you are all staying safe, cool, and hydrated this weekend. As we’re opening up after the pandemic, a lot of us realized we were drinking more than usual during this past year. Here’s to finding and enjoying some non-alcoholic beverages this summer! There are way more options than ever before, and here are a few of our favourites.

Sparkling Botanicals by Rishi Tea

Sparkling Botanicals by Rishi elevates sparkling water with botanical tea flavors to create a light, refreshing beverage for the summer. They currently offer six flavors: Grapefruit Quince, Schisandra Berry, Black Lemon, Turmeric Saffron, Patagonia Maqui and Dandelion Ginger. $40 for a 12-pack.

Buy them online here or locally at a store near you.

GT’s Kombucha

GT’s has been around for 20 years and is my go-to kombucha brand. Guava Goddess is the fizzy fermented tea flavor I have most often, and they have over 40 flavors.

GT’s is available all over the place, most grocery stores will have it (Safeway, QFC, PCC). Look up availability in your zip code here.

Acid League

Specializing in “experiments with acid”, Acid League’s wine Proxies are layered blends of juices, teas, spices, bitters, and more designed to pair with food and be enjoyed in your finest stemware

Each month, they make three new Proxies. Fresh flavors balancing fruit, acidity, spice, and body with all the complexity of great wine, and none of the alcohol. You can pause, skip, or cancel at any time.

Sapiens Beverage

It’s wine without alcohol. They currently offer a red wine and sparkling rosé and both are 0.0% ABV. We tried both and the sparkling rosé is spot on, but the red wine was a miss. At $38 a bottle, it’s pricey, but the rosé is perfect for a special occasion and tastes just like the real thing (because it basically is). I would pass on the red wine.

TÖST

TÖST offers dry, sparkling non-alcoholic beverages in two varieties: a classic with white tea, white cranberry, and ginger and rosé with white tea, ginger and elderberry.

You can purchase in 3 pack ($9 per bottle), 6 pack ($8 per bottle), and 12 pack ($7.66 per bottle). The classic flavor comes in 12 oz singles option for $48 (12 pack).

Shop online here or find in store here (it’s actually currently only available in the greater Seattle area at Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi in Bellevue).

Partake Brewing

Love the taste of beer but don’t want the alcohol? One of the more expensive non-alcoholic beers at $55 for a 24-pack ($55.15 if you subscribe and save), but worth it. They have five varieties: Blonde, IPA, Pale, Red, and Stout. The Blonde is our favourite.

Buy them online here, at Total Wine & More, or use the store locator to find a store near you.

Athletic Brewing

A craft brewery specializing in non-alcoholic beers based out of San Diego. They have nine varieties available. Upside Down Golden Ale is our favourite. $12.99 for a 6-pack.

They also have four flavored seltzers (sans alcohol) with hops—Lemon Lime, Mango, Blood Orange, and Black Cherry.
