Welcome to 2023, which so far, has been mostly a mix of grey gloom and rain. While this weather isn’t out of the norm, it still hits hard every year, at least for me. Time to look forward to warmer temperatures, longer days ahead, and clearer skies. It’s not too early to start planning some springtime activities, like visiting the tulip festival!

Every spring since 1984, the fields of Skagit Valley’s Tulip Town have come alive in a kaleidoscope of color as rows and rows of vibrant tulips burst forth from their winter slumber. Did you know? Washington State is the largest producer of tulips in the U.S., attracting hundreds of thousands of people from across the world to witness its fields in bloom.

From bright rubber boots worn by excited toddlers to bended knees amidst wedding proposals to bedazzled heels from prom picture sessions to wooden canes and even wheelchairs, Mount Vernon’s Tulip Town has welcomed generations of guests for nearly four decades to its family-friendly farm.
