Whether you’re looking to take a late winter getaway for some snowy, cozy mountain vibes, or you’re planning ahead for the spring, Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort in Leavenworth is absolutely perfect any time of the year. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Cascade Mountains, yet less than ten minutes driving from the hustle and bustle of downtown Leavenworth, Sleeping Lady suits the needs of every type of traveler.
Accomodations
Guest rooms resemble small cabins arranged in clusters throughout the property. Each room has different, stunning views and thoughtful amenities like heated towel racks, fair trade coffee and tea, and hand-hewn log beds with luxurious linens. In addition to these rooms, Sleeping Lady offers three spacious and unique cabins. The Rookery can sleep up to eight and is great for a group vacation, while Eyrie is the perfect setting for a truly romantic getaway, with its whirlpool bath and private deck. The newly renovated Library suite is a true one-bedroom cabin with a pull out queen sized sofa sleeper in the living room area. Elegant in their simplicity, the accommodations at Sleeping Lady are a rustic sanctuary amidst the awe-inspiring beauty of Icicle Creek and the Cascade Mountains.
We love that Sleeping Lady is pet friendly, so we were able to take our pup on the trip with us! There are plenty of walking paths for exploring and for giving your furry friends a walk when they need one.
Dining
Another great thing about Sleeping Lady is that you don’t even need to leave the resort if you don’t want to! There are several dining options on site, including O’Grady’s Pantry, which serves hearty breakfasts and a wide range of lunch and dinner specials. There is a cozy indoor dining area which is built around a giant boulder, and in the warmer months, you can dine on the patio and enjoy stunning views and a waterfall.
Sleeping Lady also has The Grotto Bar, which showcases a rotating seasonal menu of handcrafted cocktails, and one of the largest selections of whiskies in North Central Washington. Local Washington craft beer and wines are complemented by a new tapas menu with small plate offerings.

Activities
For those wanting to relax and rejuvenate, Sleeping Lady has an onsite spa, Aspen Leaf Day Spa. Unwind with a full menu of soothing spa treatments and therapies, including a variety of massages, facials, body scrubs, and more. Spa guests may enjoy amenities such as a robe and slippers, organic tea and chocolate, and access to the garden.
Just a five minute drive from Sleeping Lady, you can enjoy a festive sleigh ride during the winter months with Icicle Outfitters. During the warmer part of the year, Icicle Outfitters offers horseback riding, hiking, high lake fishing, and more. The views of the mountains are stunning no matter what time of year you visit.
If you’re a wine lover like me, then you’ve got to go to Silvara Cellars for a wine tasting! This hilltop winery offers gorgeous views and delicious award-winning wines. There are several tasting experiences that you can choose from, and they have a selection of cheeses and charcuterie to pair with your wine. The outdoor area at Silvara is lovely in the warmer months, and they offer seating in their cozy igloos in the winter!
Finally, you’ve got to explore downtown Leavenworth while you’re visiting. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and wine tasting rooms to keep you busy. Some of my personal favorites are Yodelin for healthy, farm-to-table cuisine, Mana Restaurant for their elegant, multi-course wine-paired dinners, and The Cheesemonger’s Shop for the best selection of cheeses I’ve ever witnessed.
Icicle Fund
At Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort, they believe in travel with a purpose. Every time you visit the spa, enjoy a meal, or book a stay, a portion of each dollar you spend benefits the Icicle Fund – a non-profit organization founded by Sleeping Lady’s founder, Harriet Bullitt. Icicle Fund supports other local North Central Washington organizations whose work aligns with Fund’s mission of engaging people with arts, history and the natural environment.
