We’ve rounded up a list of Seattle restaurant patios that stand out for their atmosphere, their vibe, and of course, their food and drinks!
AQUA by El Gaucho
If you’re looking for one of the most iconic patio dining experiences in Seattle, this waterfront restaurant should be at the top of your list. Located on Pier 70, the expansive outdoor deck at AQUA by El Gaucho overlooks Elliott Bay, with views of the Olympic Mountains, Mount Rainier, and some of the city’s most beautiful sunsets. Dining on AQUA’s patio always feels like a special occasion and is perfect for seafood, steaks, wine, and sunset cocktails. The menu leans upscale with oysters on the half shell, buttery black cod, and flawlessly cooked dry-aged steaks, alongside an extensive wine list and classic cocktails like martinis and old fashioneds. It’s especially magical on warm summer evenings when the sky turns pink over the water, making it one of the most scenic outdoor dining spots in the city.

Duke’s Seafood (South Lake Union)
Duke’s Seafood is a quintessential Seattle seafood restaurant with multiple locations, but our favorite is the SLU location that sits right on Lake Union. Duke’s is the ideal place for a relaxed spring or summer afternoon. Boats float by, seaplanes take off in the distance, and you feel like you’re right in the heart of Seattle. The outdoor deck is perched on the water, making it a great spot for enjoying fresh seafood and cocktails in the sun. The menu focuses on sustainably sourced seafood, including Duke’s award-winning clam chowder, wild salmon, and casual favorites like fish and chips, paired with local beers and easy-drinking cocktails. Duke’s is casual, scenic, and a lovely place to spend a long, leisurely afternoon by the lake.

Aerlume
Situated above the waterfront near Pike Place Market, Aerlume offers one of the most stunning patio views in the city. The outdoor seating overlooks Elliott Bay and has views of the Olympic Mountains and the Great Wheel, giving it a dramatic and quintessential Seattle backdrop. The patio is sleek and modern, making it a great spot for date nights, special occasions, or out-of-town visitors. The service is impeccable, making every visit feel special. Aerlume’s menu highlights Pacific Northwest ingredients with dishes like Dungeness crab, smoked lamb carbonara, and beautifully plated seafood, while the bar program features inventive craft cocktails and a well-curated wine list. Come here for refined cuisine paired with some of the best sunset views in Seattle.

The Cove Wine Bar
This wine bar that’s tucked away in Chandler’s Cove on Lake Union feels like a hidden gem. The patio sits right on the water, and you can come by boat and dock outside. The Cove is a relaxed spot that’s ideal for drinking rosé, sharing small plates, and watching boats pass. The wine list spans old-world and new-world selections, with plenty of crisp whites and refreshing rosés ideal for warm weather, alongside a rotating selection of beers. Pair your drinks with light bites like charcuterie, cheese boards, and seasonal small plates. The atmosphere is laid-back and summery, making it an ideal place for a slow afternoon or sunset wine with friends. The waterfront patio and dockside setting make it one of the most unique outdoor drinking spots in the city.

Agua Verde
We’ve been going to Agua Verde for more than 15 years, and it remains one of the liveliest restaurant patios in Seattle. Located on Portage Bay near the University of Washington, this colorful Mexican café has a large patio right on the water. Kayakers paddle by while you eat tacos, sip margaritas, and soak up the sun. The vibe here is casual and fun and is superb for daytime dining, brunch, or a sunny afternoon cocktail. The menu features crowd-pleasers like enchiladas, fish tacos, and burritos, along with strong margaritas and refreshing aguas frescas. The bright colors, waterfront views, and laid-back energy make it one of Seattle’s most joyful warm-weather patios.

Cantina del Sol
If rooftop patios are more your style, this Capitol Hill spot is a great choice. Cantina del Sol is known for their margaritas, Mexican cuisine, and a lively atmosphere. It’s even covered and heated for Seattle’s unpredictable weather. Cantina del Sol is a fun place for happy hour, weekend brunch, or a night out with friends, especially when rooftop season is in full swing. Expect a menu of shareable Mexican dishes, from tacos to chips and guac, alongside frozen and classic margaritas, tequila-forward cocktails, and plenty of mezcal options. Cantina del Sol will be reopening for the sunny season on April 29.

Mr. Fish Chips & Chowder
Mr. Fish is a casual seafood spot near the Seattle waterfront with outdoor seating that’s great for a relaxed spring or summer meal. It’s a great place to grab fish and chips, fish tacos, or chowder and eat outside in the sunshine. The vibe is laid-back and unfussy, making it a great stop after walking along the waterfront or visiting Pike Place Market. The menu focuses on classic comfort seafood, with crispy beer-battered fish, hearty chowder full of clams and bacon, and raw oysters on the half shell, plus beers and simple cocktails that pair for a sunny afternoon.

Tutta Bella
Tutta Bella is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Seattle, with a number of locations throughout the city. Their outdoor patios have a cozy neighborhood feel, and are great for enjoying some Italian fare and a refreshing beverage. Tutta Bella is known for their Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas, and their menu also features fresh pastas and Italian-inspired small plates, complemented by a solid wine list and classic Italian cocktails like spritzes and negronis. On a sunny day, it’s an ideal spot to linger over a bottle of wine and a few shared dishes while neighborhood residents stroll by.
