Luzia opened in Seattle on Thursday, March 30th at Marymoor Park for a limited engagement through May 21st. Luzia explores various themes linked to the culture, history and mythology of Mexico, some of which may not seem connected at first glance. The show uses speed, monumentality, rain in all its manifestations, surreal animal life, and a poetic vision of reality in this contemporary mosaic. It awakens and engages your senses and transports you to a place suspended between dreams and reality.
We had the chance to chat with Artistic Director, Mark Shaub, and Adagio artist Kelly McDonald of the Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA show arriving in Seattle on March 30th (get your tickets soon!). LUZIA takes you to imaginary Mexico, like in a waking dream, where light quenches the spirit and the rain soothes the soul. Freely inspired by Mexico, LUZIA is a poetic and acrobatic ode to the rich, vibrant culture of a country whose wealth stems from an extraordinary mix of influences and creative collisions.
Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA will be performing under a redesigned white-and-gold Big Top at King County’s Marymoor Park in Redmond from March 30 – May 21, 2017. Tickets are now available online to the public at cirquedusoleil.com/luzia.
