This Saturday we’ll cross our fingers for good news as the groundhog searches for his shadow. Regardless of which way the light falls, here are some things exciting us about the month ahead. Welcome, February!
Sawyer opened earlier this month in the old Kickin’ Boot location in Ballard serving casual, chic new American fare. Drawing inspiration from Chef Mitch Mayers’ fine dining background and childhood memories at the state fair, he has created a menu that features items including bone marrow matzo ball soup with a pho broth, oxtail nachos, and animal style burger.
Former Chef de Cuisine of Lark, Mitch Mayers, is opening his first restaurant venture—Sawyer—in the heart of Ballard tomorrow. The full service restaurant and bar, which together seats115, will occupy the significantly renovated space at the corner of 22nd and Shilshole Avenue, just off Ballard’s main hub.
