Alpha Industries: Bringing Military Style Back

Alpha Industries began as a clothing manufacturer for the US armed forces in the late 50’s. Today, the company specializes in jackets and coats that emulate both the vintage military aesthetic (think epaulets and stand-up collars) and the durability of combat wear. The following selections are some of the highlights from Alpha’s Spring 2011 men’s collection.

The Brigadier ($95) is sturdy enough to withstand showers, but its lightweight cotton build affords it some warm weather wearability as well.

The H20 Trench ($125) is made of breathable, waterproof nylon — and when the sun comes out, it folds into a portable bag!

The Hawk ($81) embodies the classic bomber motif, but its ripstop nylon shell and concealed hood protect its wearer against the elements, as well.
