Interior Designer Of The Week: Gracious Living

For over two decades, Anacortes-based interior design firm Gracious Living has served a multitude of clients all over Washington state. Founder Molly McIntosh and her skilled crew operate on the principle that, while they have the professional expertise, the homeowners themselves have their own style and preferences. By collaborating and sharing ideas, the possibilities are many when one enlists in Gracious Living’s services.[nggallery id=34]

McIntosh has been designing living spaces since the age of five, when she “oversaw” a remodeling project in her bedroom. Since then, she has earned professional membership in the Northwest Society of Interior Designers (NWSID) and is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Since 2000, she has been listed in both International Who’s Who in Interior Design™ and Who’s Who in America™.

Gracious Living projects have appeared in many local exhibitions, such as the 1993 Seattle Symphony House Tour; 2003 Seattle Interiors Tour; 2005 Anacortes Home & Boat Tour; and 2008 Anacortes Real Estate Expo. Earlier this year, three of the firm’s projects were featured in the book Shore Decor: Design at the Water’s Edge by E. Ashley Rooney (Schiffer Publishing Ltd., 2011).

Gracious Living has also been the recipient of many awards. Honors have included 1994 NWSID: Second Place Winner for Residential Vignette Over $5,000; 1994 Master Home Builders of King & Snohomish Counties: Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME) Silver Award for Best Home Design in $375,000-$500,000 category; and 2009 Skagit County Island Builder Association award, Best Master Bath & Kitchen.
