A stellar line-up of Seattle musicians, playing to support a worthy cause.
What: Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, Blues for Food Fest will feature live performances from some of the best blues groups in our area. The line-up includes Wired!, The Rectifiers, The Avey Brothers, Alice Stuart Duo, James King and the Southsiders and Linda Myers’ Portland All Stars.
This event promises to be jam-packed with great music, fantastic food and groovy entertainment — including free kids activities from 12 to 4 p.m.
When: From 12 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 3.
Where: Warren G. Magnuson Park (directions).
Why: This event is a unique opportunity for blues fans and food lovers alike to come together and enjoy soulful music and soulful food, while also raising awareness for two distinctive and exceptional non-profit organizations.
Who: Seattle is home to nearly 75 P-Patches. These P-Patches are community gardens overseen by the P-Patch Trust, a nonprofit organization aimed at enriching and strengthening the community through gardening.
The Washington Blues Society is a non-profit organization established in order to promote and advance the culture of blues music. This event helps support American blues music and raises awareness for the P-Patch Trust, as well as the group’s more than 40 food banks and giving gardens that annually donate nearly 20 tons of produce to charity.
How (much): Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased online in advance, or at the gate on the day of the festival.
