Sexy Food: Get Down And Dirty At Coffee Fest

A hot and steamy java event you don’t want to miss.

When I think about sexy food that is synonymous with Seattle, I’m sure I’m not alone in conjuring images of espresso machines steaming up the windows of one of our many local coffee shops. If coffee gets you in the mood for love, be prepared for a whole lotta foreplay this weekend during Seattle’s own Coffee Fest at the Washington State Convention Center.

Hundreds of vendors will be on hand, exhibiting everything from espresso machines to exotic beans. I’m hoping someone will turn up in coffee plant pasties, but I, like everyone else, will have to wait and see.

One cornerstone participant of Coffee Fest is Fonté Coffee Company, voted best micro-roaster in the Pacific Northwest. If you haven’t been to their retail outpost across from the Seattle Art Museum, I suggest you make a visit. I love the fact that they have something to satisfy every mood, whether you crave wine, espresso, or a luscious platter of local charcuterie.

I caught up with Fonté to see what they have planned for the caffeine junkies heading to mecca this weekend, and I’m sharing the skinny with you. The skinny latte, that is.

If any of the events on that schedule make your blood boil brown in search of the nearest roaster, I suggest you hightail it to Coffee Fest. Once inside, Fonté should be your first stop — because with a calendar like that, you are bound to walk away satisfied, and yet ready for more action.
