Who: Northwest Girlchoir (NWGC) — an internationally acclaimed ensemble composed of nearly 300 members — has enriched our community with stunning vocal performances for nearly 40 years. The ensemble appears in regional, national and occasionally international festivals, most recently at the American Masterpieces Choral Festival in Seattle and Festival 500 in Newfoundland, Canada.
NWGC invites musically-inclined young ladies to try out for the five auditioned choral ensembles: Fresca (Grades 3-6), Amabile (4-7), Vivace (6-9), Amore (8-12) and Ensemble (9-12). Three non-auditioned programs are available for girls between the ages of 4 and 7 years old.
What: The third annual November Nosh is a brunch and silent auction that supports the Northwest Girlchoir Financial Aid Program. This year’s guests can enjoy tasty morsels from Red Ruckus Catering as they are treated to performances from the Fresca and Vivace choirs. The Nosh raised nearly $6,500 in 2010, and event organizers hope to raise that bar a little higher this year.
Where: Brunch will be held at NWGC’s location on Ravenna Boulevard. (Google Map)
When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5.
Why: NWGC provides a wonderful education program for young women that fosters artistic talent and creates a strong sense of community. Saturday’s brunch and silent auction directly benefits the program’s financial aid program and provides scholarships for potential choristers.
How Much: General admission is $30 ($10 for guests 17 years and younger), with Diva ($50) and Maestro ($100) options also available. Tickets can be puchased online.
