Street Scramble puts your local knowledge to the test.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, the organizers of Street Scramble at the Market want you to get lost. In this exciting competition, teams have just two hours to navigate the streets of Seattle to collect as many points as possible.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Pike Street Hillclimb Plaza (or teams can sign up online prior to the event). Each team is given a map with 30 circled locations throughout the city, all of which are assigned a point value.
The race kicks off at 10 a.m. sharp. Whenever a checkpoint is visited, each group answers a trivia question to prove they were actually there. All teams must return to the plaza by noon. While scores are tallied, scramblers can enjoy refreshments and mingle with the other participants. Ribbons will be awarded in a number of categories.
Street Scramble is hosted by meridian geographics (MerGeo), a Seattle-based company that offers various trail runs, adventure races and scavenger hunts to the public. The entry fee for Street Scramble at the Market is $20 per person.
