Be In The Know: 15th Annual Sakura-Con

Join fellow Seattleites for three days of everything Japanese Anime.

Sakura-Con is one of the longest running and best attended Anime Conventions in the Pacific Northwest. This three day event is home to Japanese Animation (Anime), manga (Asian themed comics) and Asian culture. Sakura-Con 2012 is the 15th of its kind and has grown dramatically since it began.

The Asia-Northwest Cultural Education Association (ANCEA) hosts this annual gathering to celebrate Asian culture. This year, ANCEA brings to Sakura-Con all the entertainment and events attendees have grown to know and love, plus more.

Sakura-Con will have a variety of events and entertainment with unique guests of honor including: Moi dix Mois, Kanon Wakeshima and Stereopony. These three musical preformance will bring their own eclectic taste to the convention and give attendees the chance to sample different kinds of Asian-influenced music.

Additional guests of honor range from Anime voice over stars to people who work behind the scenes in the Anime industry. Aside from the action in the convention center, Sakura-Con will be putting on their annual elegant Gothic and Lolita Tea Party. Tickets can be purchased separately for this event online.

Special events for this year’s convention include The Gallery of Fantastic Art (GOFA) displaying the best Anime artwork and magna from all over the world. The Puget Sound Blood Center will also be holding a drive and donors will be eligible for prizes courtesy of Darkhorse Manga.
