Western clothing goes retro!

Designers put a twist on Western wear and transport us to the Southwest with Navajo belts, moccasins, tribal prints and vintage washes.  Asos, UK’s largest independent online fashion and beauty retailer (provides free shipping and returns), recently premiered their Men’s Spring/Summer 2012 look book where they embraced this Southwestern trend.  Their “Laurel Canyon” line – a modern take on 1970’s and Western clothing – is tailored, affordable and relevant to this season’s runways.

Originally made by the Indigenous people of North America the moccasin is meant for exploring the great outdoors.  It is known as a slipper, but as the runways show it is perfectly acceptable to be used as a shoe.  Get these comfortable and stylish moccasins from Asos to add a cool outdoorsy vibe to your spring wardrobe.

Ikat is a dyeing technique that is said to have originated in South America, but different cultures have different designs within the fabric. These intricate designs and beautiful colors create an intriguing fabric that looks great on jackets, shirts and shorts.  Ikat prints are great for men and are easy to mix and match with other pieces in your closet.

Chambray shirts are often seen in work wear because they are strong and lightweight – great as a shell in warm weather.  Although chambray shirts are functional they are also stylish and support the denim trend that is huge this spring.  This shirt is very versatile and great for layering or if you are daring enough denim on denim is greatly encouraged!
