This Post Alley staple offers bright new flavors for spring.
In this edition of Food Porn, we feature The Pink Door, an Italian-American restaurant hidden behind a “milky rose portal” in Pike Place’s Post Alley. This Seattle staple offers delicious food, live entertainment, a beautifully decorated dining room, and a gorgeous patio with a breathtaking view of Elliot Bay.

The Springthyme in Seattle cocktail with gin, fresh muddled thyme, lime, and ginger beer was a favorite as well as the Pink Madonna, a classic Pink Door cocktail with house lemonade and vodka. Not feeling like an alcoholic beverage? Try the Pike Place Mocktail with orange juice, simple syrup, and sour mix.
The Duo of Spring Crostini with fava-pea puree, radish and shrimp, limincello, and lemon zest gremolata. Everything Green Salad with bibb lettuce, peas, fava beans, asparagus, pistachios and a creamy tarragon dressing. Penn Cove Clams made with vermouth, garlic, parsley, and a touch of cream honored the ingredients with the simple, but well-executed preparation.
For entrees, the Risotto with NW Dungeness crab, slow roasted tomatoes, leeks, and mascarpone is a rich and creamy dish with layers of flavors. Pappardelle al Ragu Bolognese with slow simmered meat sauce and fresh pasta. The pasta was so thin and fresh, a contrast to anything that is made with preservatives and dried or frozen. Try the Spaghetti with fresh artichokes, garlic, and artisanal olive oil for an interesting interpretation of as classic dish.
For dessert, the Butterscotch Pudding is to-die-for. It’s smooth and creamy, but not overly sweet and balanced with light, house-made whipped cream. Pair the dense, chocolate lover’s Flourless Chocolate Cake with an espresso to end a wonderful meal.
