Experience the world through contemporary dance.
Every year, Seattleites congregate to take part in the Seattle International Dance Festival (SIDF), Beyond the Threshold — an contemporary arts event that lights up the Emerald City. The SIDF is a ten-day merriment that highlights dance and art in Seattle with workshops and performances by international, national and local dancers.
The festival began in 2006 as a way to connect Seattle to the greater international artistic scene. This year, SIDF has partnered with South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce, Amazon.com, Vulcan, Inc. and Cornish College of the Arts make the festival possible.
The 7th annual SIDF will energize the South Lake Union neighborhood and the Seattle streetcar with performances from dance companies around the globe. The festival will be divided into five different artistic programs. These programs will include: Art on the Fly, The InterïNational Series, Spotlight on Seattle, The Threshold Institute and Sanity Café. Some of the events will include performances by dance companies from Finland, Switzerland, West Africa, Germany and France. For more program scheduling information click here.
